Pilates is one of those things that has been quite popular in recent years as people have recognized the benefits. It is basically an exercise system which was invented by Joseph Pilates and which concentrates on the core muscles that support the spine and are involved in balancing the body.

Warming up your winter

So how's the pumpkin soup going everyone, with a little hint of ginger to warm you up at this time of the year? With the weather turning rather cold and damp I have found it necessary to use moxa (an ancient Chinese method of expelling the cold and resolving the damp) on more patients in the last few weeks.

Change for the season

Hi everyone. Well, I have people coming in saying winter is here. Personally, winter is not my favourite season although I acknowledge its necessity in the cycle of things. I like to wait until the last leaf on the tree has fallen, then I say winter has arrived, knowing the buds are just about to appear (it keeps winter as short as possible for me). But on that note... it is time to eat the warming foods. Put away the salads and the smoothies; time for the pumpkin soup maybe with a touch of ginger, the bowl of porridge for breakfast and a beautiful colourful array of steamed or stir fried veges to go with dinner.
